چکیده

The primary goal of diagnostic nuclear medicine is to provide complete and accurate reports without equivocation or disclaimers. If specific clinical questions cannot be answered because radiopharmaceutical extravasation, the imaging study may have repeated. decision reimage based on several factors including quality images, additional patient radiation dose, burden, administrative constraints. Through process improvement efforts, departments can significantly reduce frequency extravasation thereby also need for reimaging. Communication with important any time impact their immediate future care. circumstances potential ramifications should explained, concerns addressed. Although recent arguments been made in favor investigating addressing only those extravasations which result serious injury, patients referring physicians deserve know impacted.

Radiation dose to the nuclear medicine nurses

Background: People who have been administrated radiopharmaceuticals could be a source of radiation to their relatives, medical nurses, and people who are in contact with them. The aim of this work was to estimate radiation dose received by nuclear medicine nurses. Materials and Methods: In this study, the dose rates at various distances of 5 – 100 cm from 70 patients, who were administered diag...

Staff and patient absorbed doses due to diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures

Background: Annual patient effective dose equivalent can be considered as a quantitative physical parameter describing the activities performed in each nuclear medicine department. Annual staff dose equivalent could be also considered as a parameter describing the amount of radiation risk for performing the activities. We calculated the staff to patient dose equivalent ratio to be used as a phy...
